F# (shipped in Visual Studio 2010) is a functional programming language that supports static checking and type inference for units-of-measure. Even in the simplest applications, units-of-measure can act as a valuable additional check for the correctness of the code.

Anton Schaighofer will start by giving an introduction to units-of-measure and their implementation in F#. He'll work through smaller and larger code examples that make use of units-of-measure. As a large application, he'll detail a wrapper for a mathematical programming and optimization toolbox (Microsoft Solver Foundation) that handles units-of-measure transparently.
